Makarand Lele is a Fellow Company Secretary (FCS) & a member of Institute of Company Secretaries of India since 1992. He has completed his Commerce graduation (B.Com) from Garware College of Commerce Pune & Law graduation LL.B from ILS Law College Pune. He is Practicing Company Secretary since 1993 & has professional experience of more than 30 years. He has founded Bizfirst Professionals & co‐founded MRM Associates.
He has been consulting to various Indian & International businesses on compliances, governance, risk management, joint ventures, policies, structuring & various critical matters in corporate laws & providing total business solutions.
He is appointed as Government Nominee on the Council of Institute of Cost Accountants of India in the month of June 2020.

He is a certified Corporate Secretary trainer under Toolkit Training of Trainers Programme of CSIA.
He was re‐elected as the Secretary of the Corporate Secretaries International Association (CSIA) for the year 2018‐19. CSIA is an international federation of professional bodies having 15 member countries & represents membership span of around 1,00,000 Corporate Secretaries.
He is actively associated with The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) since 1994. He was the President of ICSI for the Golden Jubilee year 2018 & was Vice‐President for the year 2017. He served as a Chairman of Western India Reginal Council in the year 2011 & as a Chairman of Pune Chapter in the year 2003.
He has served on various committees of Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Securities Exchange Board of India such as Business responsibility reporting committee, primary market committee, valuation law committee, Insolvency Law committee etc. He was appointed as the first Chairman of ICSI Auditing Standards Board formed by the ICSI in the year 2016.
He is a member of Corporate Legislation Core Committee of Mahratta Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture (MCCIA).
He is appointed as a Nominee on the Academic Council of Shivaji University, Kolhapur & North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon as an eminent expert & nominated on the board of studies for financial management of Savitribai Phule Pune University.
He has been empaneled as "Mediator & Conciliator" by the Regional Director Western Region, North Western Region, Southern, South East Region & Northern Region.
He has represented ICSI at various international conferences held in Thailand, Kenya, UK, Italy & Australia & shared views on the Corporate Governance, compliances, sustainability, business reporting etc.
He has been nominated on ICSI Secretarial Standards Board (SSB) as a representative of ICoMA.
He is a regular contributor to various professional magazines & publications. He was a mentor member of ICSI editorial team, who developed a researched base compendium "Premier on Company Law" consist of exclusive commentary on Companies Act, 2013.
He is a renowned trainer & speaker on several segments in corporate laws, management & economic affairs.
